Tom Sawyer Day: September 12, 2009

Fort Verde State Historic Park is surrounded by a large, white picket fence. Thanks to the volunteers who turned out to help us paint the fence just like Tom Sawyer! Camp Verde Mayor Bob Burnside stopped by and helped make buttons (photo 3). And special thanks to Girl Scouts Troops 841, 379, 1610, 1726, 1004, 1717, 690, Boy Scout Troop 164, and Cub Pack 7193 (from Camp Verde)! We also want to thank our volunteer historical re-enactors who came by to talk with the kids and teach them about history. It was a very fun day and we look forward to next year!
