April 9 & 10, 2011: History of the Soldier (Official Arizona Centennial Event)
This annual event offers visitors a living history timeline of military and civilian encampments from the Revolutionary War to the present day. This year (despite some cold, wet weather on Saturday) over 220 youth and 200 adults visited the park and enjoyed History of the Solider events which included: flag raising ceremonies, military demonstrations, a fashion show, games for children and an 1870s-era baseball game, and dutch oven cooking demonstraitons to support Fort Verde State Historic Park.
