Arizona State Parks will offer several competitive grant programs for FY 2009-10. The workshop sessions provide detailed instructions on how to complete a grant application. Workshops are free and application points may be awarded for workshop attendance. Workshop attendance is required for application eligibility. Workshops are provided free of charge. Interested participants MUST register online by noon the day prior to the workshop date if they wish to attend.

Historic Preservation Heritage Fund applicants are required to attend one of the workshops being held statewide to be eligible for funding. There are two Historic Preservation application cycles annually.
The Local, Regional, and State Parks Heritage Fund and the Trails Heritage Fund workshops are conducted simultaneously. The Recreational Trails Program (motorized portion), and State Lake Improvement Fund workshops are independent. Growing Smarter State Trust Land Acquisition Grant Program workshops are independent.
Grant application manuals are available on the Grant Program home page or at the workshops or by contacting the Grant Program Coordinator.
In November 1998, voters approved an annual appropriation of $20 million to the Land Conservation Fund from the General Fund until FY 2011. These funds are used to assist eligible applicants in purchasing or leasing State Trust land that has been reclassified for conservation. Political subdivisions of the state and non-profit organizations created with the purpose of preserving open space can all apply for these monies.
This instructional session is designed to provide attendees with a clear understanding of how to complete a Growing Smarter State Trust Land Acquisition Grant application. Program requirements and procedures are discussed at the workshop, along with rating criteria and the grant scoring and award process. Application packets for Fiscal Year 2009 Growing Smarter State Trust Land Acquisition grants are provided at the workshops.
