Tonto Natural Bridge State Park offers a different experience during each of the four seasons.
Spring brings colorful blossoms to the park's pear, apple, apricot and plum trees. Typically, April provides the perfect combination of mild temperatures and blooms. It's a great month to visit.
In summer, temperatures average mid-90s during the day and dip down to the upper 50s at night. During June and July, the park's temperature reaches 100 degrees a few times. Remember, the sun is more intense at higher altitudes so it may feel even hotter to those visiting from the low desert. Summer thunderstorms begin around July 4th and can continue through mid-September. Thunderstorms can drop over 3” of rain very quickly so use caution if you are hiking in or near the creek bed.
October and November are also a wonderful time to visit the park. Highs in October average in the mid 70s; evening temperatures are in the 40s. In November you may encounter light snows. Highs are typically in the 60s. Fall comes late to this hidden valley; the changing spectrum of fall colors appear in mid to late November.
Winter months see an average of 24” of snow, which melts rather quickly. Winter temperatures average in the high 50s to low to-mid 20s.
