Facilities available at River Island State Park; this park one mile north of Buckskin Mountain State Park.
Restrooms
The park has two restroom / shower buildings located at the NE and SW sides of the park. Both are Handicap accessible.
Group: Day Use Areas
20’ X 20’ shade ramada. Minimum 12 people, maximum 65 people. 15 car and 3 boat-length parking spaces. Reservations available. Located across from Ranger Station at SW side of the park. Handicap accessible.
Group: Camping Sites
20’ X 20’ shade ramada. Minimum 12 people, maximum 65 people. 15 car and 3 boat-length parking spaces. One 20-amp outlet, lights, water, fire ring. Located across from Ranger Station at SW side of the park. Reservations available. Handicap accessible.
Camping & RV Sites
Site reservations are available by calling the Reservation Center at (520) 586-2283. You can call 7 days a week, from 8 am to 5 pm MST. There is a $5 non-refundable reservation fee per site. You may also reserve campsites 24/7 for this park online
37 total campsites. Eight beachfront campsites on grass overlooking Colorado River with 20-amp service, water. 24-foot limit. Tents allowed. 29 RV-deep campsites (up to 65 feet deep) with 50, 30, and 20-amp service, all with water. 10 back-in sites and 19 pull-throughs. Tents allowed.
Note: From April 1 through Sept. 30, there is a two night minimum stay for weekend camping: you must reserve both Friday & Saturday night. For Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend, there is a three night minimum stay for holiday weekend camping: you must reserve Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
There is a $15.00 per night fee for second vehicles. Fee will be paid upon arrival at the park. Fee does not apply to vehicles towed behind a primary vehicle when the primary vehicle remains at the site and the towed vehicle is used for transportation.

Dump Station
Dump station located at SW side of park across from Ranger Station. No charge to registered campers. Fee required to unregistered vehicles.

One 20’ X 20’ ramada with lights, 20-amp outlet, water.
Hiking Trails
Wedge Hill Trail is approximately ½ mile in length, medium difficulty, overlooking Colorado River. Scenic overlooks include Colorado River and Parker Dam. A per person trail-use fee for unregistered park visitors. Trailhead located east of launch ramp.
Fishing
This park has fishing with Largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, bluegill, carp and striper being common.
A valid Arizona fishing license is required for anglers fourteen and older. Licensing information is available online at Arizona Game & Fish, or purchase a fishing license at a local dealer.
Swimming
This park has swimming. No lifeguard on duty. Swimming is at your own risk.
Boat Ramp
Three lanes located in calm cove. Launch ramp parking has 20 boat-length deep spaces. Cove is a No Wake Zone. HAZARD: Island reef is located in center of cove. Hug cliffs to access Main River Channel. Observe all navigational aides (buoys).
Non-Motorized Watercraft
Concession store located ½ mile south of park on Highway 95 rents boats.
Wildlife Viewing
Great birding & waterfowl opportunities; occasional bobcat, bighorn sheep, and coyote.
