2009 Fiesta de las Calabazas: October 3, 2009
The 10th Annual Feista de las Calabazas featured plenty of food and fun for the 450 people who attended this year. Live music was provided by Tortolita Gutpluckers and InAscent. The Arizona Game & Fish department presented group archery lessons throughout the day. There were authors, food vendors, the Pumpkin Patch with gourds to decorate and take home; as well as live animals, mesquite-based and prickly pear products for sale, a plant sale, guided tours of the historic Kannally Ranch House, educational programs, face painting, and kids activities.
Visitors could also bring up to 5 gallons of mesquite pods to the park and have them ground into mesquite flour at the Mesquite Flour Hammer Mill by Desert Harvesters.
Arizona State Parks continued its Aldo Leopold Celebration with a presentation by Kim Stone. David E. Brown, ASU Professor and Aldo Leopold scholar was also on-hand autographing books he wrote about and co-wrote with Aldo Leopold.

Thanks to the vendors, bands, exhibitors, the Friends of Oracle State Park
, and nearly 50 volunteers for making this such fun event.
