Weather
Fort Verde is located in the center of the state at an elevation of 3,620 feet above sea level. The area has a temperate climate that averages 5–10 degrees cooler than Phoenix and 10–15 degrees warmer than Flagstaff.
During the winter we get an occasional snow that may last through the day. Spring normally brings some winds. We have a monsoon (rainy) season that starts in May and can last through early July. The rains usually come in the late afternoon. If it does rain, it typically stops in a few minutes. Our desert area can become alive with seas of wildflowers during the rains.
In the late spring and early summer all of the wildflowers and cactus are in bloom and provide fantastic photo opportunities.
